I love this Autumn Scene. Not just because it's so pretty, but also because Fall is my favorite season. I love when we start to get out the long sleeves and the jackets, the fall decorations, make hot chocolate and a pumpkin pie, think even more about what we are thankful for and enjoy some cooler temps with that crisp air and a little nip of cool here and there. It's always such a welcome reprieve from our squelching hot Texas summers! I love when the leaves start turning other shades of greens, reds, golds, yellows and oranges. It's like a plate of desserts set before us... autumn eye candy. I love how the orange leaves on this tree are slowly shedding on the ground below. I'm sure there is probably someone at this little farm who's job is to mow or rake the leaves, but I hope they wait so we can enjoy them just a little while longer. I have always loved to take pictures. My first job, at age 16, was receptionist for our local newspaper, but the owners soon included me in taking photos, darkroom and writing articles. Years later, a terrible event in my personal life brought back a love of taking photos that I had not been pursuing to any great extent. My only child passed away at the age of 22. He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss.
