Description
"He's One Sandwich Short Of A Picnic" was painted on a vintage-looking green sign hung up in a booth at an East Texas diner. My husband and I were enjoying a nice meal out. This particular diner has such great, whimsical signs around their dining area. David and I shared several chuckles over the funny signs and sayings we saw as we waited for our food. This "One Sandwich Short" sign was my favorite and a new one on me. I just had to grab my camera and take a photograph of it.
The second thing that was funny to me about this sign was the credit line, which usually gives the author of the particular saying. Instead, the credit line merely says, "Basket Case".
Their restaurant walls have a rustic appeal, sort of western. On our table was the usual salt and pepper shakers and a miniature silver, tin pail that held packets of sugar and artificial sweeteners.
There were also old license plates around and photographs of old local points of interests or iconic stars. It is an enjoyable, family friendly place to go, with great food and a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is full of "play on word" titles of their items to order. It is enjoyable to read, too. Definitely, our kind of place!
Thank you for visiting our photography site and our hope is that you find something that "strikes your fancy" ! Something that would fit right in on your walls, your office, your child's dorm room, or as a greeting card to send to a friend or relative. The Fine Art America watermark you see in the bottom, right hand corner will not be on the printed artwork you purchase.
God bless you!
