"A Place of Serenity" is a beautiful, tranquil lakeside dock photographed in the early evening. One can see the sun setting as it glistens on the water and peeks through the tree branches hanging down. One takes in the gorgeous shades of gold and orange as the sun reflects on the water. One can feel the presence of God by just viewing the wonderful creation He has provided for us. Meditation and prayers of thanksgiving come forth easily.
The popularity of owning a lakeside property is tremendous and growing all the time. The beautiful scenery, the calmness and tranquility of the water is a huge draw. People have a great need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life, the phones, the endless traffic, and the deadlines at work. They need to go to a place that is calm and where they can chill and relax. Whether it be their everyday home or a get away property, or their retirement home, lakeside property is appealing.
Watching the waterfowl fly in and the ducks playing in the water, listening to the frogs croaking and the soothing sound of the waves soothe the senses. It might be just what the doctor ordered. Water sports, such as boating, skiing, fishing,etc fill the days of the lake residents and their families and visitors. Watching the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets from your own dock right by the water is indescribable. Photographing a majestic eagle as it flies above is a wonderful treat!
Entertaining friends on your beautiful dock, lakefront parties, fish fry's, and just hanging out on the deck fill the days of the property owners. But it feels so much more laid back by the water.
This particular scene is like a breath of fresh air, where all you need is a lounge chair, a cold drink, and someone you love beside you, Or in the daylight hours, a good book, peach iced tea and no time constraints! It's good for the soul to have that kind of R & R, along with the fun recreational aspects.
The appeal of lakefront properties has driven up the prices through the years, sometimes astronomically. Depending on the location, the popularity of the Lake or Mountains nearby, etc., can make a dream seem far away. Some people have it handed down from generation to generation. Others spend months, sometimes years saving to purchase their dream property. The location of the property affects the price greatly. But, still to me, there is nothing like the country atmosphere of a local lake, near a small town, and a comfortable home by the water. A place where anyone can afford to have their own Place of Serenity.
