Description
Marilyn, an inquisitive two year old cat, could not WAIT until we got the wrapping paper from this Christmas gift picked up off the floor before she jumped into the middle of it! We all laughed as she played with the paper and the pretty bow that came on the package. I called her name and she looked up at me as if "What? I'm playing!" And I snapped her photo!
I'm not sure what kind of cat Marilyn is....mixed breed or there has been question as to her being possibly a "tuxedo cat." But what we know for sure, is her little life started out pretty sadly. Marilyn and her three siblings were found in a box inside a shopping cart in the parking lot of a Walmart store in Shreveport, Louisiana. I am grateful that at least someone cared enough to put them in a public place hoping they would be rescued, but that is still sad!
Luckily, the kittens were found by my brother in law and niece and they rescued them all, finding them each a good home.
They gave this little black and white sweetheart to my mother in law, who fell in love with her immediately. She named her Marilyn...after the famous Marilyn Monroe, who was an American actress, model, and singer, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s. They thought of that because of the little heart shaped beauty mark beside her nose and the fact that she was such a pretty kitten. In the twentieth century Marilyn Monroe's beauty mark generated a new vogue. It was questioned at the time as to whether is was real or painted on. Actually, research shows that she did have a beauty mark (facial mole) just above her lip, but probably covered it up with makeup in her earlier modeling careers because she thought it was unattractive.
We laughed and said Marilyn is in her terrible twos, showing her personality and rambunctiousness in this photograph. Even though she is a sweet kitty, she likes to play and get attention. So, appropriately, I named her playful photo in the wrapping paper, "Marilyn, It's A Wrap!"
