Save Me A Seat is a relaxing photograph of three colorful Adirondack chairs, of bright turquoise, lime green and blue, sitting empty on the wooden fishing dock of a local lake. When we saw this, we could imagine the family or friends that got together to sit and relax, do a little fishing, have a cold drink, chat about how the fish are biting, and just enjoy their private spot on the lake.
They have lakeside seats to all the action. We could just see them in our minds as they sat and watched the boats speed by or folks out for a little exercise, paddling their canoe. We imagined them watching the daring skiers behind the ski boats as the water sprayed from the speeding vessel. We could just see them watching the dragonflies and the butterflies as they flitted about. We could hear the frogs croaking and see the occasional fish jump in the water. We could envision the great blue heron as he flew overhead to his next perch.

I have always loved to take pictures. My first job, at age 16, was receptionist for our local newspaper, but the owners soon included me in taking photos, darkroom and writing articles. Years later, a terrible event in my personal life brought back a love of taking photos that I had not been pursuing to any great extent. My only child passed away at the age of 22. He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss. After a bad fall that resulted in surgery, I was recuperating at home and stir crazy. My husband took me out for drives in the country. We bought a new digital camera...
