"Yer Old Outhouse" photo was taken on the grounds of Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Gardens. It is one of the authentic old time items you can find in this East Texas attraction, Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Gardens.... that is visited by thousands every year. "Yer Old Outhouse" is reminiscent of days gone past and in ill repair with the wooden side boards rotting and decaying and even a hole in the side. Not a place I want to be inside of! :)
You may not have heard of it, but the beautiful daffodil gardens have been visited by people far and wide, from many states and even countries.
Mrs. Lee's Daffodil Gardens are on a 816-acre tract of land that is drastically transformed every February and March into fields of gold and white when the daffodils begin to bloom. Millions of golden daffodils and white ones, too, are scattered over approximately 28 acres. Dogwood trees and many other flowering trees can also be seen. I have always loved to take pictures. My first job, at age 16, was receptionist for our local newspaper, but the owners soon included me in taking photos, darkroom and writing articles. Years later, a terrible event in my personal life brought back a love of taking photos that I had not been pursuing to any great extent. My only child passed away at the age of 22. He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss. After a bad fall that resulted in surgery, I was recuperating at home and stir crazy. My husband took me out for drives in the country. We bought a new digital camera...
