Artist's Description

David took this interesting photo when we visited this notable monument for the first time, with just a different perspective of looking toward this sky. The phrase that "prayers are lifted up" seems fitting to title this piece.

The Prayer Tower and Gardens is a beautiful, tranquil place, even though it is located in the middle of downtown Pittsburg, Texas. The Prayer Tower, a gift to the city from businessman Bo Pilgrim, features four Paccard bells from France and a chapel that never closes. The tower is made of Indiana limestone with a Vermont slate roof. It is beautifully landscaped with a gurgling fountain, a life-size bronze statue showing Jesus washing Peter's feet, and a variety of flowers and plants year round. The bells chime and play hymns on the hour. It has three long pews and a prayer altar inside the peaceful setting. Four stunning stained glass windows depict various scenes in the life of Jesus.

He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss. After a bad fall that resulted in surgery, I was recuperating at home and stir crazy. My husband took me out for drives in the country. We bought a new digital camera...
