I had the most fun watching this fairly active little Scissor Tailed Flycatcher. She or he was perched on a fence post railing on a bridge across an East Texas Lake. I am not a birder, so I am not sure if it was male or female....but I am saying female because it says the males are more vibrant colored. She also did not have the LONG scissor tail of the more mature birds. Juvenile birds have the shorter scissor tails and are more grey and white all over in color, and the adults have more salmon color on their underbelly. Their long forked tails make them very unique.
