Artist's Description

Buffy was my husband's dog when we married. He had raised her from a puppy, having also had her parents as pets. She wasn't a pure breed. But she was such a pretty thing, mostly black with tan and beige mixed in, an adorable face and the cutest tan patch on her chest and feet.
Buffy was such a sweet-natured dog. She always greeted you with her eyes and her whole body, wagging her tail and excitedly dancing about. You knew she was so happy to see you. I say "was" because Buffy just suddenly passed away a few months back. We don't know what happened to her, we assume old age. She had been playing just the day before around our fenced in back yard.
Buffy had one litter of puppies, of which we kept two. It was funny to watch Buffy with her puppies. That gentle, sweet dog could be very bossy. Our other two dogs soon found out not to try to get around Buffy when her puppies were eating. She would put them in their place very quickly! She was very protective of her bab...

I have always loved to take pictures. My first job, at age 16, was receptionist for our local newspaper, but the owners soon included me in taking photos, darkroom and writing articles. Years later, a terrible event in my personal life brought back a love of taking photos that I had not been pursuing to any great extent. My only child passed away at the age of 22. He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss. After a bad fall that resulted in surgery, I was recuperating at home and stir crazy. My husband took me out for drives in the country. We bought a new digital camera...
