Description
On our way to see Christmas lights in Logansport on a brisk winter day, we spotted this beautiful old church in Keachi, Louisiana. The barren trees helped to see the church building so much better. I instantly loved the setting and the beauty of "The Country Church." I could not find much out when I looked it up though. The old, worn sign out front said Keatchie Baptist Church Established 1852. But on the National Register information it spelled the town differently and had a different date of build. It said "Keachi Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church on LA 172 in Keachi, Louisiana. The Greek Revival, Gothic Revival building was constructed in 1880 and added to the National Register in 1988."

Absolutely beautiful image! Visually very appealing. Established means when the congregation officially began. They could have met anywhere for the first thirty years. The building was probably then built thirty years after the congregation began meeting in that area. L/F

Thank you William Tasker! Most likely you are right about the start of the congregation. Thank you for your like and fave.
