This was my favorite window display that I have seen so far this holiday season. I took this photo of a beautiful snowman in a store window display in downtown Gladewater, Texas. Gladewater, known as "The Antique Capital of East Texas" has many wonderful antiques stores, featuring all sorts of treasures to feast your eyes upon. All are inviting the antique enthusiast to take them home. At Christmastime, some of the stores put together beautiful Christmas scenes for local folks and visitors to enjoy. They even have a fun store window and store front decorating contest in town. Gladewater was also designated a Texas Main Street City in 1999 and that encouraged a more nostalgic look to the downtown area. I loved this festive holiday snowman in this antique mall's window display and just had to have a photo of him! And I'm glad I did! He's pumping SNOW, which is something the East Texas area does not get an abundance of!
This photograph was also recently featured in a travel brochure for Texas Forest Trail Region! The brochure is very colorful and spotlights various Texas Road Trips and our photo is on the Gladewater, Texas Page. This was quite an honor because the brochure could be picked up at any Texas travel centers, some rest stop areas, and our local Chamber of Commerce....or requested and mailed to you from the Texas Forest Trail Region. The director told me that over 15,000 of them were distributed across Texas. That is quite a thrill!
